Morfi support

Help with converting files, the drop shelf, and Pro purchases.

Contact TechNICKal LLC

Email nicholas@technickalapps.com. Include your Morfi version, macOS version, the kind of file, and the steps that led to the issue. Attach only files you want support to receive.

Convert a file

Drop one or more files on Morfi’s window, or click it to choose files. Morfi identifies each file type and shows the formats it can become, with the most likely choice first. Choose a format, or press Return for the first one. Converted files are saved next to the originals unless you choose Desktop, Downloads, or another folder in Settings. Use Open or Show in Folder to find the result.

Is Morfi free?

Morfi converts 3 files a day for free, of any kind. Each converted file counts as one, and the count starts over at midnight. Opening and previewing files is never limited. Morfi Pro is one permanent in-app purchase, with no subscription, that removes the daily limit. Open Settings → Morfi Pro to see the current App Store price in your currency before purchasing.

Restore Pro

In Settings → Morfi Pro, choose Restore Purchases using the Apple Account that made the purchase. An internet connection may be needed. Pending purchases unlock after Apple approves them. If the store is unavailable, retry later.

Supported files

Morfi works with 165 file types: pictures and camera RAW, video and audio, documents, spreadsheets and presentations, data files, contacts and calendars, email, ebooks, maps and GPS tracks, subtitles, 3D models, archives, fonts and MIDI. A few formats, such as WMV and FBX, are not supported yet; Morfi explains when it cannot convert a file.

Drop shelf and opening at login

Both are optional and off until you turn them on, in the welcome screen or in Settings. With the drop shelf on, drag a file to the top of the screen from any app and drop it on a format; Morfi then appears in the menu bar instead of the Dock. Open at login starts Morfi quietly in the menu bar when you log in. If macOS asks for approval, allow Morfi in System Settings → General → Login Items.

Menu bar and window

Morfi opens with its main window. Its menu-bar icon opens the window, Settings, the welcome screen, and Morfi Pro. Closing the window keeps Morfi ready in the menu bar; choose Quit Morfi to quit. Help → Show Welcome Again replays the welcome screen.

Privacy

Files are converted on your Mac and are not uploaded. Read the Morfi privacy policy for details.
